In the heart of a 21st-century Ohio college town, eighteen-year-old Leera, a grieving freshman with silver hair and a hidden werewolf legacy, collides with Roman, a centuries-old alpha and hockey star haunted by the loss of his first mate. Their electric mate bond, a rare second chance bestowed by the Moon Goddess, ignites a passionate romance that defies Roman’s arranged engagement to the cunning India, who will stop at nothing including abduction to claim the werewolf throne.

“I missed home…” my words felt tight in my throat as if I was being forced to admit how I truly felt.“What kind of excuse is that? Do you know how much your dad pays for your fees? And still dare to miss school. Your sister never bunks school. Can you ever be like her and stop being a headache to me and your father?” she spat out, glaring at me like I was a mistake. Well, I was my parents’ mistake. She walked out once she was done talking and that was my cue to get ready and leave.I came down after two minute. My mom and dad were having their breakfast. They glued their eyes to their phone ignoring my presence.“Good morning, Mom and Dad.” I greeted but their silence slashed my soul leaving no part untouched.I strolled toward the door ready to leave when my Mom’s phone rang. Her sour mood brightened up and I didn’t need to be told her favorite daughter was the one that called.“Hello, my precious baby. Good morning how was your night?” She beamed. “Is that so? Alright, you know I will give you the world if you asked me to. Okay. Your dad wants to speak to you.” My mom passed him the phone and he gladly took it with a proud smile that wasn’t on his face two minutes ago.“Hello, my baby doll. I hope no one stresses you at school. Oh, how much do you need? One million is nothing baby. In fact, Daddy is going to send you two million instead.” I scoffed as they praised and promised my obnoxious sister. She wasn’t even at school, pretty sure she was out of the country with her friends on a cruise ship. Mom and Dad won’t believe me if I told them that their precious daughter was outside cruising on their money instead of studying. However, they never valued my opinion like a white crayon. Before they could end the call, I left their house disheartened. My phone dinged in my pocket and it was from Lydia. I rolled my eyes as I read her text.“You better not snitch on me or I will make sure your life will forever be a mess.” She threatened with a knife and blood drop emoji.“FYI, my life is already a mess. Also, if you don’t want your biology, physics and math lectures to give you an F on your project better send me a million check so that I can buy the required materials.” I texted back, lying to get some money out of her. There was no way she was going to make me attend her classes without getting anything in return. She responded with an angry emoji which I left on read and continued to stroll down the bus stand. An alert dropped on my phone and I smiled knowing my lie worked. Now I could settle part of my debt the only problem I have is getting the rest of the money. Jack Blackwood is the worst person I want on my radar.A text dropped on my messages and a chill ran down my spine. You can run from me but you can’t hide, little kitten. Nice red top by the way.
