The fairy isles are a group of islands in the supernatural world. Each supernatural race has their own group of islands they live on surrounding a large land mass that a mix of races live in and coexist and they hold the summits and council meetings of all the races. The queen and king of each race resides on the council and helps make decisions for the whole of their race and the whole world. There are 6 fairy isles and they have 6 kings guards that reside over the fairy isles. There was some conflict which caused the head of the kings guard to sneak the princess out without the king or queen knowing which put the queen into such a downward spiral that the once flourishing isles have begun to weaken and the magic is leaving the fairies slowly. Every year the kings guard chooses a talented fairy from their isle to attend the most prestigious school at the main isle and unfortunately the main guard doesn't know where the princess is anymore and the kings guard residing over her isle has seen her magic and believes she would be a fantastic fit at the school.
