When Amaya is left severely paralyzed with a Spinal Cord Injury she is faced with a life of the unknown. She is struggling to come to terms with life's new restrictions and feels like she is a prisoner in her own body. Feeling isolated by her overbearing parents and struggling to cope with them being her carers, having no independence she becomes suicidal and wants to attend an end-of-life clinic rather than be forced to deal with learning to live a whole new life while severely disabled and using a wheelchair. Amaya is court-ordered to attend Psychotherapy after expressing her wishes to end her life. Here she meets Daniel who tries all he can to make her see that her life is worth living, he introduces her to his husband Michael who is an Occupational Therapist. Michael shows her that there are many ways to live her life and find all she hopes and dreams for.  Michael and Daniel show Amaya that she can live an independent life, free of her parents' controlling ways and that she can learn all the new skills needed to live a comfortable life, they introduce her to their partner Lucy, and from here Lucy forces Michael and Daniel to admit their love for Amaya, but can love blossom and bring them together, as a 4 Amaya is introduced to a whole new world of hope and possibilities, through finding real love her world is opened up to a whole new culture of BDSM and Polyamory
