Thirty years ago, magic descended upon Earth. Everything changed. The stronger your magic, the higher your status. The greater your talent, the more wealth, influence, and respect you receive. In this new world, power is everything. Fred has almost none. Born with an abnormally low magical capacity, the sixteen-year-old should have been destined for an ordinary life far away from the world's greatest magical institutions. Instead, his exceptional written-exam results earn him a place at the prestigious Global Academy of Higher Magic. Among prodigies, nobles, elemental geniuses, and students capable of devastating spells, Fred is immediately branded a failure. But nobody knows what happened when he awakened. Fred possesses a mysterious ability that can analyze magic itself.
