I wasn't supposed to want him.
He was my professor—brilliant, guarded, and completely off-limits. The kind of man who could ruin me with a single glance, and destroy himself by looking back.
But I looked anyway.
And so did he.
What started as stolen glances became coded messages. Late-night conversations. Hands that brushed and lingered too long. Every moment with him was fire and risk, and I couldn't get enough.
I knew the rules. I knew the stakes. I knew what we were risking.
But when you've spent your whole life being perfect, playing it safe, doing what everyone expects—sometimes the only way to find yourself is to break.
And I broke for him.
Now the whole campus knows. My family knows. His career is on the line, and mine isn't far behind. They're calling me a victim. They're calling him a predator. They're calling us a scandal.
But they don't know the truth.
They don't know what it feels like when he looks at me. They don't know the man behind the walls. They don't know that for the first time in my life, I chose something for myself.
Even if it costs me everything.
In a world where rules are everything, what happens when love is the lesson no one saw coming?
