Annabelle was taken to a prison at the age of six because she burned down her family's house using her firey powers. This prison trains her to use her powers in ways to help people. She fights terrifying monsters, meets interesting people, and figures out that one of her friends might actually want to kill her. She has information in her head that may be dangerous to her and others. When people in the prison start disappearing, Annabelle escapes and meets Isaac, a boy around her age with ice powers. Annabelle eventually falls for him and together they learn about their powers and try to recover the missing people, while finding out the truth about who was actually behind it all.
