🌙 The Lantern Of The Forgotten Forest
Updated at Aug 18, 2025, 06:09
Long ago, in a kingdom hidden beyond misty hills, there was a forest no one dared to enter. It was called the Forgotten Forest, where trees whispered secrets, and shadows moved like living things. People said a cursed lantern hung deep within, burning with a flame that never went out. Whoever touched it would vanish forever. But not everyone believed the stories. One evening, Elira, a kind-hearted girl from the village, wandered near the forest. Her little brother was terribly sick, and the healer told her, “Only a drop of moonlight from the Lantern can cure him.” Though frightened, Elira loved her brother more than her own life. She tied her cloak tight and stepped into the woods. The forest came alive at her footsteps. Branches bent toward her, roots twisted to block her way, and strange lights flickered like mischievous eyes. Still, she pressed on.At last, Elira found the Lantern hanging from a silver tree, glowing softly like captured starlight. As she reached for it, the shadows gathered, forming the shape of a great wolf with eyes like burning coals.“Why do you seek what is not yours?” the wolf growled.Elira, though trembling, answered, “Not for greed, but for love. My brother’s life depends on this light.”The wolf stared at her, then lowered its head. “Most who come here wish for gold or power. But you… your heart is pure. Take the Lantern, but remember: its flame is not endless. Use it wisely, or it will fade forever.”Elira carefully caught a single drop of the lantern’s silver flame in a crystal vial. She hurried home, and when she touched it to her brother’s lips, his fever vanished and color returned to his cheeks. From that day on, the people no longer feared the Forgotten Forest. They learned it was not cursed but protected, waiting for those brave enough to enter with love in their hearts. And Elira, the girl who faced shadows for her brother, became known as Keeper of the Lantern—a guardian of light and hope.---✨ The end.
