Broken Together
Updated at May 24, 2021, 06:16
“Us,” She waved her hand in the space between us, “Whatever relationship we have, needs to stop, Vincent.” She said with bloodshot eyes and red cheeks. Her hands are trembling and she looks so small, so fragile. I don’t want to hurt her but I cannot stay away from her. I would rather die. I reached from her trembling hand, she tried to push my hand away but I held on to it tightly until she eased up. I placed her hand on my chest, exactly where my heart is. She looked into my eyes as tears slowly fell down on her cheeks, “I am not able to continue living without you, Mel. If we can’t fix our f****d up lives right now, then let’s just be broken,” I scooped her chin with my hand and leaned in closer as I whispered, “Together.” Amelia grew up alone and independent ever since her parents were arrested when she was fifteen. She trained her mind to never need anybody’s help so she worked two jobs every single day to make ends meet. For years, her world revolved around her work and the four walls of her apartment. Until one day, she came across an incident that changed her daily routine. Vincent Ludwig Ashford lived an extravagant life. He has the looks, the money and the talent. He never has to work hard to get whatever he wants; he’s studying in one of the most prestigious schools in New York and he already has his own house and multiple cars at the age of 21. But despite of everything, deep inside, he’s still not satisfied and incomplete. On cold morning in Seattle, Amelia found Vincent bleeding from a stab wound on a dark alley, barely conscious. She did what anyone would and called the paramedics and they immediately rushed Vincent to the hospital. After that Amelia thought that that would be the last time that she’ll see him but Vincent thought otherwise. Ever since he saw that clear hazel eyes in that dark alley, he knew that he needed to see her again. She found him and now, He needs to find her.
