On the day that was supposed to be a source of happiness for Lucinda, she was betrayed by her husband and her best friend. Lucinda disappears for long enough to be assumed dead, only to return wealthy, influential, and prepared to make them pay for all the hurt she suffered. But her one-time best friend is not done wrecking her life, and even goes as far as employing the aid of a certain ruthless individual who is on nobody's side but his own. Lucinda will come to realize that things don't always go as planned, especially since she finds herself forced to ally with the very husband she has sworn to destroy.
