The story opens with three main characters, Avila, Zeno and Damir, struggling to let go of their past and to live in the present. The story is written with the point of view of all three of them, showing their inner turmoil and feelings. Avila is a military doctor, serving in the border of the country after running away from the capital, trying to figure out how to live with the guilt of losing a friend whom she couldn't save. Zeno, burdened by his duties and responsibilities towards his country, is having a hard time after breaking up with his girlfriend. He wants to undo the past and make things right. Damir had lost his family due to mutiny from the neighbouring country towards his country. He lives with guilt everyday thinking, Why did he survive? Why was he the only one to survive? He wanted to avenge his family’s death, the only family he ever had. Damir is a musical artist, he has gained love and warmth from all parts of the country, but this isn't the love he is searching for, he wanted a family, someone whom he can call home, somewhere he belongs. The three of them cross paths with each other when they all end up being assigned to the same military camp. As their fates get entwined with each other, the dark unwelcomed past is revealed to them, asking them difficult choices to make. Will they make the right choice, or make an irredeemable mistake? Everyone was given one chance to live again, a life without any guilt, will they follow their fate’s will and do what was planned for them or will they listen to their heart?
