_The wife who knows nothing
Updated at Oct 23, 2026, 12:10
After 3 years later *Title:* The Wife Who Knows Nothing *Content:* Vanessa cried all night. "What baby, Adrian? What baby are you hiding from me?" she screamed, throwing his clothes out of their mansion in Banana Island. Adrian was silent. For the first time in five years, he could not lie. "Her name was Aisha Bello. She was... before you," he said quietly. "Before me? You had a baby with her? And you never told me? You told me I was your first love!" "You were my first love," he lied. But his mind was not on Vanessa. His mind was on the red dress. On Aisha's eyes. On how she looked at him like he was nothing. He searched her name that night: "Aisha Bello BELLA Group." Forbes article came up: "From Homeless Cleaner to Billionaire CEO at 26." He clicked on her Instagram. 4.2 million followers. Pictures in Dubai, in Paris Fashion Week, on a private jet. And no man beside her. Never a man. "She did all this without me," he whispered. His chest hurt. He remembered the hospital. He remembered his phone ringing. Aisha calling him 27 times that night. He was at a business dinner with Vanessa's father. He switched off his phone. He thought, "I will call her tomorrow." Tomorrow never came. He called his assistant at 2 AM. "Find out everything about BELLA Group's visit to Lagos. Find out where she is staying. Now!" Meanwhile, I was in my penthouse at Eko Atlantic, sipping wine, looking at the Lagos lights. My assistant, Sarah, walked in. "Ma'am, he is searching for you. Adrian Cole. He called the summit organizers three times tonight." I smiled. "Good. Let him search. Let him lose sleep. Just like I did for five years." "And his wife, Vanessa, she just posted a story crying. People are already gossiping," Sarah added. I looked at my phone. A message from an unknown number: "Aisha, please. Can we meet? Just five minutes. I need to explain. - Adrian" I did not reply. I deleted it. But I will meet him. Not because I forgive him. Because I want him to see what he threw away. I want him to watch me become his boss. Because tomorrow, I am buying 30% of his company. His company will be mine. Just like his heart was once mine. And then I will crush it. ---
