PROLOGUE : Tonia was sitting anxiously waiting for Jerry to come out of the shower. Never had she imagined a day would come when it will be difficult to talk to the one she loves more than anything else. The door finally opened and Jeramie came out of his room with a smile. The smile she was about to wipe off his face. "Hey babe, sorry I kept you waiting for so long. it's so hot I didn't feel like coming out of the shower ". He said sliding on his shirt. Tonia stood up and went to hug him. Pulling her back, he was about kissing her but her tears stopped him. "You're crying, what's wrong, did someone say something to you? Jeramie asked to see her wave her head. "So why are you crying? "I'm sorry ". "For what? He asked confused. "For breaking up with you ". she replied without looking at him. "Hahaha... very funny babe. When exactly did we break up? "You know I love you a lot right? she asked to see him nod. "Just like I love you, I also love my dad as well and I can't bear to see him hurt ". "Baby I think you need a doctor. you've been acting strange since you got back from your aunt Maddie's ". "I'm getting married ". She announced succinctly. "What!!! "You can't be serious are you n "As much as I want it to be a joke, it is not ". "You... you can't get married. I know your dad and I don't really get along but I'm sure we can work something out right? "I'm sorry but it's too late to do anything about it now. my engagement is in a week's time and I simply can't do anything that will hurt my dad ". She was about leaving but he grabbed her wrist to stop her. "I won't let you get married got that? You can't just walk in and out of my life whenever you want to, I didn't make it that easy for you to toil with my emotions ". "Jerry you are hurting me, let go off of me ". She pleaded and he released her. "I won't let this wedding take place and that's it. If it means getting rid of your old man then I'm up for the task ". He boasted. "What are you trying to say Jerry? Cleaning up the tears from her face, Tonia asked. She knew how dangerous he can get whenever he's angry. The fact that he was a psycho path is the main reason John never liked him. His anger was rather too extreme. "If your dad is not present for your wedding who will give you away, no dad equals no wedding. That's why I will have to get rid of him ". He said and got a slap for it. "How dare you think about hurting my dad? "Did you just slap me? Jeramie asked with his right hand on his cheek. It was his question that got Tonia to realize what she'd done. The anger when he'd talked about getting rid of her father had enveloped her she'd actually forgotten she was meant to calm him down. "Oh no... I'm so sorry I didn't mean to do that ". She pleaded. "I'll make you pay for that you mark my words ". with that, he left. Tonia fell to the couch. All she wanted to do was make him understand that it was over between them but her one unplanned move had changed it. She cleaned up the fresh tears from her eyes and went after him.
