Leah is in a loveless marriage. As the 2nd daughter, she is forced to marry Jamie, who he himself, is the spare son. In an effort to win his father’s favor, or perhaps as an act of rebellion, Jamie decides to begin working with a secret organization whose main goal is to stamp out the current political order in favor of policies centered around the people. Jamie sees his wife as a hindrance in his pursuit of prestige within the organization. Jamie spends their wedding day and night with his new wife and immediately departs the next day for the America’s on business. Leah is left to try to figure out married life and running a household on her own.
