Synopsis
London is a city built on power, and no one holds more of it than Adrian Voss.
ELARA SINCLAIR, 27, has spent her life surviving working double shifts, paying off debts left behind by a reckless father, and keeping her head down in the grey corners of London's East End. When her brother borrows money from the wrong man to save his failing business, Elara steps in to protect him, placing herself directly in the crosshairs of ADRIAN VOSS, 34, a ruthless, enigmatic crime lord who operates from the shadows of Mayfair, with a reach that extends from Parliament to the underworld.
Adrian doesn't want money. He wants something far more dangerous. He wants Elara. Not as a prisoner. As a presence. She will live under his roof, attend his events, and exist in his world for six months. In the end, the debt is cleared. The terms are simple. The consequences, anything but.
Trapped in Adrian's opulent Mayfair townhouse, Elara discovers that the devil is far more complex than his reputation. He is cold and calculating, yes, but also fiercely loyal, devastatingly perceptive, and haunted by a past he has buried beneath steel and silk. As the weeks pass, the walls between them crack, then crumble. But Adrian's world is one of enemies and retribution, and the closer Elara gets, the more she becomes a target.
When a rival faction threatens Elara's life to get to Adrian, the lines between captor and protector dissolve entirely. Elara must choose: flee the devil she has come to know or fight alongside him. And Adrian must confront the most terrifying truth of his calculated life: that he has something worth losing.
