You must not lose faith in humanity. Humanity is an ocean; if a few drops of the ocean are dirty, the ocean does not become dirty. A quote by Mahatma Gandhi that my parents would always repeat to me. It's like they knew that they would be taken to soon, like they knew my life would be turned upside down. Like they knew that I would question humanity. Out of the ocean of humans that I could have been given to care for me after my parents' untimely death, I was given one who relished in the feel of my bones breaking beneath his hands. Someone I thought was pure turned out to be a sick and twisted monster. But through it all, I just kept repeating what my parents would say. I wouldn't give up on humanity.
