What We Know: The Flying Car and Where It's Headed.

Flying cars have been a sci-fi dream for years. But with advances in electric and hybrid propulsion and drone technology, the flying car may soon become a reality for everyone. There are several companies racing to build the first commercially viable flying car, and we know some of what we can expect from them so far. As of now, it looks like there will be two types of vehicle: one designed more as a luxury vehicle with room for 4 passengers and one that’s more compact and designed as an urban commuter vehicle. There are also two main types of propulsion: propellers or rotors located on top of the car and on each corner respectively. These vehicles would utilize either battery power or solar power charged by photovoltaic cells on the roof of the vehicle.
