Kota’s parents died when he was 5 and from then he was raised to be a machine. Growing up in a military school he learned to take care of himself when he was 12 he got adopted by his aunt rue and uncle kay. They weren’t in contact with his parents so they didn’t know that his parents died only recently and they adopted him out of guilt. He finally got to go to normal school like other kids which is something he wished for a long time. He got to school and that’s when reality hit him that the world isn’t as wonderful as the stories and movies make it out to be in reality life outside the military school were much worse
