During the early 1900's; A young lady named Sheila inherits her father's estate, which her mother still lives in; whom is a difficult and dominant woman. Sheila discovers during her father's funeral, the estate could be haunted. Although she does not recognize the apparition, she still found it attractive for a spiritual entity. She's a intelligent young woman and fear has never been a issue for her. Ophelia, Sheila's billionaire mother, insists she marry. Therefore, she summons the finest young man in town to come and meet Sheila. Sheila had secretly been having meetings with the entity, which she found his name to be Thomas, and did not desire to marry any man. With all the secret meetings with Thomas; she found she was falling in love with him. Ophelia eventually gets it out of Sheila about the haunting meetings she was secretly having. She calls on her best friend, a medium named madam Gabriela. They have a seance, but find nothing more than his name. Ophelia is satisfied to learn it's nothing that means harm, so she decides to leave it to Sheila to deal with. Madam Gabriela agrees with Ophelia and they go about their own business. Ophelia still insisted Sheila marries John, if not for anything else but to give the family a blood heir. Sheila tells Thomas and after suggesting possessing John; he agrees Sheila should marry John. Eventually, they do marry. At first, majority of Sheila's time is with Thomas moreso than John. John was a wealthy landlord in town, therefore he was gone for hours every day. As time goes by, John eventually finds out about the affair with Thomas the apparition. He summons madam Gabriela to speak with him and they begin planning how to get rid of Thomas.
