Jared Bane is a 20 year old school student; a good-for-nothing, lazy, alcoholic who lives with his single mother who works as a waitress and has never known his father. Leading an aimless and meaningless life, his life gets transformed completely after the death of his mother, when he discovers a bottle of elixir named Hemlock sent to him by an unknown person. The bottle enhances his senses and his brain power is advanced to the next level by which he achieves wonders. However, problems begin when the bottle is used up, and in search of more of the liquid, he passes through an ordeal during which dark secrets from his father's life are revealed.

I walked across the dense forest, the unusually ruthless wind piercing my throat and my legs felt numb, as though they hadn't moved in ages. The moonlight guided me towards a path I was magnetically attracted to.I pushed aside the leafy branch of a tree, and viewed on the ground at edge of the forest, the enormous silhouette of an intimidating castle and heard a blood-curdling cackle.
