Life's A Miracle
Updated at Mar 3, 2022, 23:30
Dr. Chelsie Peebles discovers she has a stage four glioblastoma. Her doctors have given her less than four months to live. It just so happens that Chelsie is an OB/GYN for a vampire clinic in New Orleans, the V-clinic. One day, she reads an article in a vampire medical journal about a vampire doctor curing cancer in humans by turning them into vampires. Chelsie is certain she has found her miracle. Chelsie is wholly dedicated to her practice, but she also has passion for singing, and moonlights with a band called Twisted Dixie. On the band’s debut night at a local hotspot, Cajun Refugees, her partner, Dr. Asa Bradley shows up. Chelsie has been crushing on that gorgeous vampire for nearly a year, but she firmly believes she’s invisible to Asa. After all, she’s overweight and sports glasses as thick as a bulletproof shield. But lo and behold, Asa notices her that night. From that point on she and Asa are inseparable, because Asa realizes Chelsie is his life mate. Unfortunately, Chad Raker, lead male vocalist for Twisted Dixie, and Chelsie’s ex, has delusional notions about Chelsie still being his girlfriend, and he threatens to kill Asa if he doesn’t leave Chelsie alone. Asa blows him off until Chad tells Asa he’s discovered he’s a vampire and his patients are going to start dying unless he breaks up with Chelsie. To make matters worse, Chelsie begins to exhibit end of life symptoms, which means she most likely won’t survive the turning procedure. Life’s a Miracle is a deeply emotional romance that deals with a woman’s personal battle with cancer. This love story is heart-wrenching at times, but Chelsie’s courage, and Asa’s unwavering love will leave you remembering them long after you’ve read the last page.
