Serena Forest has lived in Penin all her life, curious about what the world was like beyond the mountain borders of the valley when she meets a tall stranger at her best friend's 19th birthday celebration. He is tall with sun kissed skin, chestnut color hair, and the way he chuckles draws her to him. Desperate to escape her attacker, Serena takes the strangers offer to leave Penin with him to Brimsworth. There, Serena finds that the world of Archaesia has been at war with the Fae for almost a century. Thousands of creature lives have been lost fighting a war that seemed to just have happened with no explanation.
