Right outside of Boston, Massachusetts a new privet high school, The Phoenix Academy, has opened bring students from around the country into an all-inclusive, no bullying, safe space to learn and thrive. The Phoenix Academy was founded for students who are bullied, marginalized, or oppressed to rise from their mistreatment and become successful individuals capable of greatness. Karissa and her best friend Mindy apply to escape the bullying they get at school for being the only out girls at their school. Karissa hopes that the new school will be a new start for Mindy and her. She wants to be able to express herself freely and maybe tell Mindy a secret she has been keeping.
