Emily was driving home from her night shift at the hospital when her headlights caught a figure stumbling in the rain. She pulled over and asked the man if he was okay. He explained that his car broke down a few miles back and he had been walking ever since. Emily invited him to stay in her guest room for the night, but she didn't feel comfortable letting him know where she lived. As she lay in bed, she heard the man moving around in the guest room. She tried to convince herself that she was just being paranoid, but she couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong. Emily heard a man on the phone, whispering in a language she didn't recognize. When she opened the door, he had a gun in his hand and a menacing look in his eyes. Just as he raised the gun, there was a knock at the door and a police officer arrived. The officer quickly disarmed the man and took him into custody. Emily collapsed into a chair, trembling with fear and relief. She vowed never to let a stranger into her home again.
