For most of her life, Eloise Hartford has learned to make herself smaller. Raised by a mother who treated femininity as vanity and creativity as frivolous, then 'loved' by a man who convinced her she was neither beautiful nor enough, Eloise has spent years mistrusting her own desires. It hardly matters that she is an accomplished jewellery designer, a writer, fiercely intelligent, and capable of creating beauty for everyone except herself. Somewhere along the way, she stopped believing she was entitled to take up space in her own life. Then one Friday night, she decides she has had enough. Newly determined to reclaim the parts of herself she was taught to suppress, Eloise goes out with her best friend and meets Tom—a handsome, self-possessed stranger whose attention is impossible to mistake. For once, Eloise doesn't retreat. She allows herself one reckless night with a man whose name she never even asks, then slips away before morning, intending to keep the encounter exactly what it was: a beautiful, anonymous memory belonging entirely to her. Tom has other ideas. Intrigued by the woman who vanished from his bed and left nothing behind but a pair of earrings, he follows the only clue he has and discovers that Eloise Hartford is far more complicated than the woman he met that night. And the closer he gets, the more Eloise finds herself drawn toward a world—and a relationship—that demands something much more frightening than desire. It asks her to be seen. But learning to want is easier than learning to believe she deserves what she wants. As old wounds, family expectations, and the damage left by her former relationship begin surfacing again, Eloise must decide whether the woman emerging from beneath years of shame is merely another version of herself she is performing—or the woman she was always meant to become. A sensual contemporary romance about desire, self-possession, and a woman learning that liberation isn't becoming someone new. It's finally becoming yourself.

Catfish: The Prey

Elsie Aaf never meant to fall for him. She wasn't even looking for love when she downloaded the dating app. She was lonely, bored with her own life, and desperate to feel like someone else for a while. So she became someone else. A different name. A carefully altered photograph. Just enough truth to make the lies believable. Then she matched with John. Older. Handsome. Dryly funny. Infuriatingly difficult to impress. His profile said he worked for the government, which Elsie assumed meant an ordinary desk job somewhere in Whitehall. Their messages became calls. Calls became late nights. Somewhere between teasing arguments, private jokes and conversations neither of them seemed willing to end, Elsie stopped pretending to enjoy herself. That was the problem. Because John wanted to meet her. And the woman he had fallen for didn't exist. Elsie did the only thing she could think of. She ended it, blocked him everywhere and disappeared. It hurt. But it was over. At least, Elsie thought it was. Weeks later, alone in a quiet pub before a concert, a man slides into the seat opposite her. She knows that voice before she looks up. "Hello, Birdie." Elsie's blood runs cold. Because John wasn't a civil servant. He wasn't harmless. And apparently, he wasn't willing to stay blocked. Elsie thought she was the one hiding behind a false identity. She never considered that John might have been hiding something too.
