The Silver Door
Updated at Sep 2, 2017, 08:45
A stranger from a familiar world, awakes on the shore of an alien shore in a world much different from his own. Taken for an exile and a slave, he is thrown into chains not knowing where he is or how he has gotten into such a predicament. As the prison convoy rolls into a magnificent city of great high walls, it appears that only he, is able to aid the people and find a way to halt the growing tide of Corruption that is sweeping the land. Aided by and old Druid from his home world, a barely sober Dwarf, and three dissimilar Elves, Ethelwulf must find out just why he has been brought to this world. All he can remember is The Silver Door, something he saw one stormy night, something terrifying and yet wholly beautiful. The world is called Altheim, the Old World, it is where the Tree of Life places its roots, and where all the races of the Tree have found themselves returning too over the ages. It is a world of forgotten beauty, of ancient races, ancient wars and the oldest magic. Ethelwulf, our protagonist is to find it that he, though he refuses to believe, is one of three unique souls, capable of ending the Corruption that has woven its way into the heart of Altheim. Dark forces are once again moving their pieces across the board and an old foe is waking in the Desolate Lands of the North. If no one can put an end to the Corruption of the Tree, life as we know it will end swiftly. Not only Altheim is in peril, but every world that sits on the branches of the Tree of Life. Ethelwulf and his new companions must travel North, gaining allies and aid, before they reach the Desolate Lands, where the last of the Fifth Legion of Altheim has gone missing. Someone waits in the dark, cold recesses of that place, someone who may know far more about Ethelwulf's past than even he. The only way out is to keep pushing forward, to keep pressing onto, hoping that tomorrow will bring the answers he so desperately needs, before all is swept away in the tide of Corruption.
