Bounded to the Devil's Name
Updated at Sep 24, 2026, 14:32
Four days after the death of the head of the Cain crime family . publicly a heart attack, though Salvatore, the new don, starts to suspect otherwise. His father left behind an old peace contract: twenty-three years ago, the Cain and Bellamonte families ended a war by betrothing their firstborns. The Bellamonte side of that contract was believed dead . Antonio and Elena Bellamonte were killed in a fire, and their daughter was said to have died with them. She didn't. She was smuggled out and raised under a new identity: Wren Callahan, an ordinary young woman with no memory of who she really is. With rival families circling now that Salvatore's father is gone, Enzo (the family's longtime capo) pushes Salvatore to find her and marry her fast, to prove the Cain family is still strong enough to be feared. Salvatore finds Wren, and the two are drawn to each other almost immediately but Enzo soon reveals a devastating truth: Wren isn't a real Bellamonte at all. Her mother, Elena, had an affair with Salvatore's father, and Wren is his illegitimate daughter making her Salvatore's half-sister, not the Bellamonte heir. The fire wasn't about ending a rivalry; it was Salvatore's father silencing Antonio, who'd discovered the affair, while sparing his own secret daughter by hiding her away. Enzo insists Salvatore marry her anyway and bury the truth to protect the family from war, rather than risk exposing the secret now. Meanwhile, Matteo Bellamonte Antonio's brother, who survived the fire resurfaces after 23 years believing his bloodline was wiped out. He finds Wren, plants doubt about Salvatore's motives, and is secretly playing both sides: feeding information to a rival don, Dominic Marchetti, to use Wren as leverage against the Cains, while still undecided whether she's really his niece or something more complicated. Salvatore has admitted to Wren that he's hiding something serious about her mother and the fire, without revealing the full truth yet. Wren, despite everything, chooses to trust him and agrees to move forward with the public engagement unaware she's agreeing to marry her own half-brother, and unaware that Matteo and Marchetti are already circling, waiting for the right moment to use what they know.
