Alice comes across as a small, simple and an identifiable character. It's only through the eyes of her lover Samson - the vampire sent out to "dispatch" her originally, do you realize how much deeper this pixie sized female is. She is pure power that she has no control of, and he's fighting hard to keep her from being used.  Keep her contained. She knows she's a killer - but she has no idea how great her power is, and this is why Samson tries to protect her from those who would use it. Even if that means having to protect her from himself and let go of their love.
