"Would you like a glass of water?" With a concerned, slight smile, Hania asked nicely, and I just nodded, taking the water in my right hand and feeling grateful for the kindness.
She had told me every detail of how they had discovered me up until this point, including how I had only been conscious again a month ago due to the horrifying wounds that were still visible on some parts of my terrified body. Attempting to move my left hand caused a painful wrenching sensation that I hope will not last for a long time. Are you alright, Ahlam? "Would you like me to get anything for you for the pain?" Hania inquired anxiously. Pitifully, I replied, "No, it is okay, Hania. I just took some painkillers a while ago."
I placed my now-empty glass on the small round glass table next to the purple lounger I was sitting on, and she reached for it lovingly. "You are part of our family now, Ahlam, and we are going to be here for you always," she said.
I looked up at her with the highest rank of gratitude thanking Allah for placing me in a wonderful loving family Masha'Allah (God has willed it).
"Now sleep, you need to nap... Oh! We have a visitor coming home tomorrow who has been gone for six years, and we have a lot to do," she informed me, carefully observing my response. "By the way," she chirped joyfully. I raised my eyebrows in perplexity, but she simply grinned and I did not ask her any more questions.
My hands started to shake in terror as she answered the question that was on my mind, "It is a guy if you are wondering." It brought back all that had happened.
