Bound by the Blade follows Shade, a woman at the edge of her continent trying to survive the cold and demented forest of her home. Shade has lived with her late father’s words in the back of her head and tries to abide by his warnings. Her father made sure that Shade knew; when she died it would be at the hands of a Kahrdemin Warrior. Due to his teachings and training, Shade successfully avoids the Kahrdemin Warriors while traveling and working as an assassin; known as ‘Irin’s Blade’. That is until Irin and her crew agree to let a Kahrdemin Warrior join them for an upcoming job. Shade is now forced to work with a man she’s been keeping track of for years in hopes of avoiding her death by his hand. The two are thrown together in the Keep of Yuri Pel to protect the wealthy lord while he throws lavish bouts of entertainment and festivities. Shade tries hard to protect herself and her family's secrets from coming to light. She knows if the Kahrdemin Warrior finds out; he’ll kill her. Bound by the Blade also follows Kahr, the man in question of Shade’s deepest fears. Kahr struggles to understand Shade and the terror dwelling in her soul. He believes they are two sides of the same coin, if only she would talk to him. Their rocky start quickly develops into a budding romance that will have readers hungry for more.
