The Wicked Love of The Arrogant

"Where's the ring?" "Huh?" The young woman quickly withdrew her hand. "I asked where the ring was," Kayden repeated the question, looking displeased at his fiancée. "It's at the office. I have to wash coffee cups often, so I took them off to keep them safe, afraid it might get worn out," the woman's answer slightly eased Kayden's tension. "If you take it off, I'll consider it as you wanting to break the engagement." "I'm not breaking it, just taking it off for a while." "Then wear it, right now." Kayden glared at her, almost commanding. "Fine, I'll put it on," she replied, slightly complaining, then turned to her side bag, opened it, and took out her engagement ring to put it on, then showed him her hand. "Are you satisfied now?" "Good." "But why are you waiting for me, Kayden? Is there something important?" The young woman returned to the first question she wanted to know, but he had brought up the ring issue first. "Mom told me to visit my fiancée sometimes," hearing him say that made Jasmin feel slightly tense. "If Auntie Maria hadn't told you, you wouldn't have come to see me, right?" "Then why don't you come to see me sometimes?" "Because I'm afraid I'll bother you, Kayden." The conversation ended in silence from both sides. Kayden let out a soft sigh while Jasmine lowered her head, feeling an inexplicable discomfort. "I sent you a message. Why didn't you reply?" Kayden was the first to speak after nearly a minute of silence. "I read it late at night and didn't want to disturb you," Jasmine replied. "At least say something. Don't act like I'm invisible, Jas. Remember that I'm your fiancé." "It shouldn't be this way, should it, Kayden?" "What do you mean by 'it shouldn't be this way'?" "Perhaps we should break off the engagement. You seem so uncomfortable with it. Even to come see me, Aunt Maria had to push you." "She didn't force me." "Not forcing is as good as forcing, really. Since we were kids, you've hardly ever gone against Aunt Maria's wishes. If it's so exhausting and complicated, I can just end the engagement." Jasmine pulled the ring off her left ring finger and placed it in front of him. Kayden looked at the ring and then at her, his emotions boiling. When she wanted it, she stuck to him like glue, but when she wanted to get rid of it, she did it so effortlessly. "Put it back on, now," he said, almost through gritted teeth. "No, I won't! Hey! What are you doing, Kayden? I'm not putting it on." Jasmin's hand was grabbed by Kayden, who put the ring back on her finger. "Put it on and don't take it off. And don't upset my mother, got it?" "Kayden!"
