ABOUTquote
I\'m a single mom of 1 and also a licensed foster/adoptive parent. I live and work on a small farm that is being repaired (property wise). I love to read and write. I do this for fun and going to try this out because usually I just write for myself.

The fire and smoke surrounded her. She couldn't see. Panic gripped her heart. She could hear her child cry "Mommy! Mommy!!" Where was he? She searched frantically. A small explosion caused her ears to ring. She couldn't see. Couldn't hear. She howled out "To the Oak tree Love! Hurry! Mommy's coming" Tears streamed down her face because she lied. She knew. She wouldn't make it. Still she tried to find her way out of this. She just wanted to make sure her baby was safe. She tipped her head back and howled. A loud and mournful howl. Enough to cause the heart of those who heard to freeze for a moment. Hoping the nearest neighbors would hear her. "Baby? Where are you?" She shouted about the roaring fire. "Twree Mommy!" Came the scared voice of her child in the distance. He was across the driveway at the giant Oak tree. Her heart warmed. He's safe! She saw a low opening to the next room. Almost to the exit! She moved forward in an army crawl. Just as she reached it crashed down. Horror struck her heart. No escape!
