Elvi and Rowan are born on opposite sides of society. Elvi is a witch and part of the persecuted class; and Rowan, the King of shifters, holds a familial prejudice against the witches, and is the main cause for the attacks on all witch kind. They are destined for a life at odds. The Norns have a different plan in mind for them.
