The setting took place in United States (New York University), A guy named Liam, is telling his story in first-person about himself. He starts with a girl named Sophia sending him a request on an app called Snapchat cuz she saw his public profile and found him attractive and cute. They talked for months, and Liam later found out they were going to the same college. Apparently, they started dating online for months, began gisting each other and getting to know themselves more, they were even planning events to go for together like the annual freshers party.
