Chance Bennett was once an outgoing boy. He would dream of meeting the nobles in the castle north of his small village, imagining himself one day eating alongside royalty. It, however, was just a dream, reality proved that when it took his mother from him at a young age. His father had left when he was just a babe, leaving no one to care for him. With nowhere else to go Chance was sent to the royal village up north, where there was room at an orphanage. His experience there was not a pleasant one, by day he was mocked by the other children, by night he was tortured by the administrators. Growing up he heard the stories of the monsters, even saw them a few times with his own eyes, the vampires. They were royalty, humans were simply their slaves. At the age of 16 he was sent to the castle he always dreamed to visit. He didn't get in how he would have desired though, he was a slave. He cleaned for the Royals, he has seen several suck the life out of fellow slaves. He lives in constant fear of running into one of these demons, that is until he meets the sweet creature named Alexander.
