TAMING THE WOLF OF VOSS TOWERUpdated at Oct 12, 2026, 10:52
Tame the Wolf of Voss Tower is a workplace fantasy romance set in Voss Arcanum, a sixty-floor glass tower powered by a seventy-year-old ward-engine of enchanted copper rings. Tessa Brandt, a chubby, tomboyish senior ward engineer, is the only person who truly understands the engine, though her badge still says "Maintenance."
The bet. When the engine fails during a merger announcement, Tessa saves it with a wrench and a word her grandmother taught her. Damien Voss, the arrogant, wealthy playboy CEO known as the Gilded Wolf, is stunned when she walks away without asking for a reward. His older brother Adrian, the calm and reserved Chairman, is quietly impressed. He is the only executive who reads her maintenance logs, because they include jokes.
Damien is intrigued and challenges her to a bet. For thirty days she works on his floor and keeps him away from women. If she succeeds, her department gets double its budget and the title she has earned. If she fails, she works for him for good. Tessa agrees, and writes house rules on the back of a repair form: no women in the tower, no lying, no touching her tools, say please, and break a rule and owe her a favor. Damien breaks the first rule within an hour, when his ex Seraphine Lorne visits, though he turns her away. Tessa collects her favor by dragging him to the cafeteria, where he discovers fried plantains and the pleasure of ordinary company.
The rivalry begins. Adrian offers Tessa a real promotion, Head of Arcane Infrastructure, with no strings attached. Damien learns of it and is furious, and in the boardroom he invokes the Rival Clause, a clause in their grandfather's will that lets one brother take the other's shares. Tessa storms in and shuts the whole thing down, insisting she is a person and not a prize.
Then the alarm sounds. Ring Two has been cut from the engine. Damien walks into the lightning and holds the manual lever with his bare hands while Tessa stabilizes the core, burning his palms badly. Afterward she finds a sliver of rare pink Lorne Crystal in the cut and secretly keeps it, without knowing whom to trust.
Slow burn and suspicion. While Damien recovers, Tessa takes charge of his rest and adds new rules to the fridge. She forbids him from taking calls from Corvin Hale, the smooth Head of Procurement, who keeps asking about her. When Seraphine returns and insults Tessa's body and her place in the tower, Damien publicly defends her and admits the bet has become something else.
At a glittering charity gala, Pia, Tessa's loyal friend in Accounts, talks her into a deep green gown. Tessa silences a snobbish lord with a bluff. She dances with Adrian, who warns her that Hale has been watching her. In the powder room, Seraphine reveals her father Aldric Lorne has been paying Hale for years and that Hale knows Tessa took the shard. Moments later, Aldric goads Damien on the terrace in front of cameras, hoping he will strike him. Tessa talks him down, and in the garden Damien says he is falling in love with her. Hale is secretly watching.
The forgery and the alibi. Tessa sneaks into the procurement files at midnight and finds an emergency crystal order worth eight hundred million, apparently signed by Adrian. She sees Hale "correcting" the signature and nearly gets caught. Hale chases her through the dark tower with a ceramic knife. Damien, in pajamas and bandages, bursts in with Pia live-streaming, and they drive Hale off. Before he flees, Hale taunts them to ask the Chairman where he was that night. Adrian refuses to answer.
The next day he does, and takes them to the Hollow Garden, a sanatorium. In a quiet cottage lies their mother, Eleanor Voss, who was hurt twenty years ago when Ring Two cracked. Their grandfather told Damien she had died and ordered Adrian to keep the secret. Adrian has visited her every night since. The brothers weep and hold each other. Tessa then realizes the crystals keeping Eleanor alive are wired to the tower's core, so shutting down the engine would kill her. As if hearing them, Eleanor whispers one word: "Corvin."
The race. Hale starts a countdown to shut down the core and demands that the board hand him control. The only replacement for Ring Two is a spare locked in the Founders' Vault. Adrian sprints to retrieve it while Tessa and Damien hold the failing engine by hand. Together they install the ring and save the tower, and in the ring's wrapping Adrian finds a letter from their grandfather. It names Aldric Lorne as the man behind Eleanor's "accident" and Hale, then a nineteen-year-old apprentice, as the one who cut the ring.
The boardroom duel. Damien reads the letter aloud before the board. Aldric dismisses it, until Seraphine produces a recording of her father ordering that Eleanor "never wakes." Violence breaks out, and Hale lunges at Tessa with the knife. Adrian throws himself in front of her and is stabbed in the shoulder. Wounded, he releases Tessa from any rivalry, telling her he loves his brother more than he wants to win.
