When Jackson’s girlfriend, Melody, dies in an unfortunate accident, he confides in his best friend Alyssa to help him get out of his rut. As his depression worsens, Alyssa tries everything she can to save her best friend — including impersonating Jackson’s girlfriend through text messages. Jackson plays along and the story ends happily — or does it? Things may not be going as well as planned when Alyssa realizes that old feelings she’s tried so hard to repress are suddenly cropping up once again. Things get complicated when a new classmate comes along and expresses his feelings for Alyssa, showing what seems to be a jealous Jackson. As she fights her feelings, Alyssa must now choose between her duty as a best friend, or her desire to be Jackson’s girlfriend.
