A Christmas Contract With HimUpdated at Nov 26, 2025, 01:04
Twenty-five-year-old Emma Cole has every reason in the world to dread Christmas: It’s that season of the year when her parents make constant references to her as “the disappointment”, the season her ex cheated on her and left her for her sister, and usually a season spent in isolation. But this year, out of the blues, her strict parents have made one final demand; every family member must show up to the Christmas reunion with a partner.
Very Desperate to avoid humiliation, Emma finds herself in an unexpected situation with Adrian Blackwood, a cold, handsome billionaire CEO who must marry before Christmas to inherit his late father’s company in accordance with the will, or it will go to his Uncle without any room for reversal. Adrien is emotionally closed off, haunted by his father’s death, and afraid of letting anyone close, but he needs a wife. Emma needs a husband because of her Parents demand. A contract marriage is proposed, jokingly by Tania, they will pretend to be married for Christmas, New Year, and Thanksgiving, then part ways. On paper, it’s perfect, just like in the movies, She explains this to her best friend who does not hesitate to express her reservations, Emma was keen on it Tania has no other choice but to agree. While Adrian’s PA suggests the same for him and is left with the mission of finding the perfect candidate for the job.
It was a chance encounter, Emma bumped into Adrian’s PA, who thought she would be the perfect match for the job. A meeting with Adrian was set, they would get married, and after the family’s Thanks-giving, it would all be over.
From family dinners to charity events, from festive traditions to public appearances, the line between pretence and reality begins to blur. Adrian’s cold exterior has softened, and a lonely, vulnerable man appears. Emma finds herself falling in love with him against the rules of their contract. But not everyone is happy, her resentful sister Clara, along with her ex and Adrian’s scheming uncle, are bent on exposing the truth.
On the eve of Thanksgiving, Emma drunkenly professes her love. Clara, having secretively recorded this confession, by morning reveals the contract. Adrian, scared and terrified of intimacy, disappears, leaving behind only a note explaining his fears and gone off the grid. Emma is left to face the aftermath alone, reconciling with her family and reflecting on what she truly wants. Mostly, her parents apologized for how they treated her and all the unnecessary demands, then they reprimanded her sister.
Since the truth was exposed, the Company was at stake but Adrian didn’t care; his heart ached, all he wanted was to be close to Emma.
The year passes. Emma gets stronger and wiser, while Adrian confronts his emotional scars and learns to embrace love. On the next Christmas, Emma returns home, expecting a quiet holiday until Tania and Adrien’s PA arrive with a package. Inside is a note and a Christmas ornament from Adrien: “I’ve spent the year learning to be brave. I’ve missed you. I don’t want pretend anymore. I want real. I want us.”
Adrian walks through the door, ready to face his fears and confess his love. Emma and Adrien finally confront their misunderstandings and reconcile. The family now supports them fully to witness the love that has grown from pretence to reality. Turns out, his Father knew all along what he was going to do, so there was a part of the will that wasn’t read. The Lawyer reaches out to him after the Uncle had told him what had happened, with the aim of keeping the company to himself. The Lawyer stated that of by any means he wasn’t able to get married at least he tried, so he gets the company as a Christmas gift and a parting gift. This was to the dismal of his uncle. Now he has his true love and his Father’s company. What began as a contract marriage becomes a true, heartfelt romance, sealed under the magic of Christmas lights, snow, and hope.
