Emily Stevens is eighteen years old girl living in Sunlight - a lucrative district, where you can still see the Sun and the stars when they shine. Her life turned upside down when she found out that in order to save her family she had to marry Romus von Amber - the son of the richest and most influential family of today. Behind this contract, however, is not her father's ability to negotiate or good relations with his creditors, but the sensation that Emily is able to give birth to a child. This contract cost Emily much more than just a wedding ring. She lost the opportunity to decide about her life down to the smallest detail. From the clothes she wears to the meticulously planned minutes in her life. All so that her body would be in ideal condition for giving birth to the heir to the empire von Amber. And while her friends were looking for photos and information about her future husband, she only dreamed of running away, of her boyfriend, and of the future in a country where a woman can provide for herself even without a wedding ring.
By the time she reaches the altar, she has already run away a million times in her mind. But one yes in front of the altar is not enough to seal the fate. Will they fulfill their marriage with Romus? And what is her husband like? Will her life by his side be the same hell as when she was just his fiancée? Or will he give her back her freedom when she gives him an heir? Where is her husband anyway? And who is the nice man who keeps sending drinks to the bride at the bar?
Everybody would say being the richest woman in the country means power, safety, assurance. Well, not in my world or state if you want. Not in country where you may lose all your assets by one adjudication. Not in the state ruled by mafia. In this state you must gain the safety and power (buing someone), but if they do not like you, you could even die if it's the only way the could get all your belongings. Not in Slovakia (the small land in the center of Europe). So how am I gonna survive? I found another way. Marry someone so you will becone a worldwide known public person. But I am not able to do it alone. I am aware of numbres, bussiness, but I do not know lot's of people. So I contacted my old friend.
Phillipe de Ambremò. An assman to be honest. The man, who was supposed to help me find the best man, who would offer me the protection I need, so that I could continue to live my life - protected. (a gay would be the best alternative)
But how am I gonna tell my childhood friend I want to sell my marriage? I won't do it in my name.
