In a world where certain things are singular, a woman and her infant are labeled "undesirable," because the woman was unfaithful to her husband. She wears the Japanese character for "bad" on her kimonos. In this cultural enclave, a group of people are secluded, and between the group and those two, they are "that bad." Her husband is a member of the Japanese Diet. The city is covered by a dome-- there is evidence of other "communes" outside, but in this society, the status quo prevails!
