I have had a life full of traveling and adventure, moving from Yellowstone Nat. Park, Wyoming to Arizona, Kansas, Oregon, Idaho, and Colorado with my late husband in our renovated greyhound bus. Since his death six years ago, I have moved back home, dropped roots in western Idaho and started a family with my new husband, our two dogs, our two cats, and our new baby. As a first-time mom, my son is my everything and my family is the most important thing to me. It is exciting to be starting the next chapter in our adventure.
I have too many hobbies to list, but gardening, playing the violin, doing artsy and crafty projects, photography, various arcane arts, and enjoying the outdoors in any form - esp. camping, backpacking and fishing, are among them.
In the world of Qir, Ianfa, a young woman with magical powers, sets out on her coming-of-age rite of passing, a year long journey across multiple kingdoms, led by the dreams that her people receive on their 23rd birthday. On her journey, she meets Jaxim, an extraordinary man, who is as powerful as he is handsome. Mystery surrounds him, even as their relationship deepens.
On her travels she also meets Katari, a pixie-like young girl with glittering freckles, who can control light. Katari is accompanied by an enormous orange dragon, who just happens to call Jaxim "brother". How can Jaxim be related to the huge reptile, and what is an air dragon doing, traveling with a Qiran anyways?
Even as their world seems to be descending into chaos, and rumors that an army of darkness-dwelling Xartmira may be crossing the oceans, will Ianfa be able to get to the bottom of the mysteries surrounding the brothers? Will their love endure the troubles ahead of them?
Madelynn's husband is gone, fighting in the Civil War, leaving her to raise their two small children and keep their homestead running in the wilderness of the Colorado Rocky Mountains. After a devastating forest fire destroys everything they own, she has to keep her family alive as they cross the mountains. If things go well, they might be able to reach the nearest settlement of Fort Namaqua, hundreds of miles away, before winter comes. But things rarely go well, especially when friends are few and survival is based off how fast you can think on your feet. And what if they can reach Fort Namaqua? How will she get word to her husband that their family is no longer where he last left them? Is he even alive?
Follow the plight of Madelynn and her two children in their struggle to survive in spite of hungry wild animals, lonely fur traders, suspicious natives, and the raging elements.
