At Greenwood High School, Emma Green, a school newspaper reporter, is well-known for exposing the injustices on campus. On the other hand, Carter Wilson, the star quarterback, is the center of privilege and adoration. The two of them are at opposite poles of the school's social circle. During a mandatory interview, Emma's sharp questions and Carter's arrogant responses clash head-on, creating an intense atmosphere filled with hostility. However, Emma accidentally stumbles upon the scene of Carter studying classical literature in the library. This subverts his ingrained image as a "muscle-headed dunce" and quietly plants a seed of curiosity in her heart.
