She's The Boss

Sliding into his black Porsche Panamera, he used the cars console to dial his best friend Cameron Parks, partner at Parks and Jenson Law firm, also the revered Dr. Audrey Lancaster's lawyer. The dial tone sounded twice before Cameron answered, his tone elated and cheerful. "Heinz! What do you need today?", Cameron chuckled as Henry scoffed at how Cameron knew he was calling for a favour. "Dr. Audrey Lancaster". The car went eerily silent, neither man uttering a word for a short while. The only sound were the tires on tarmac and the wind passing over the car. "Baxter, do not do what I think you're about to do", Henry remained silent, he was already doing it. Another short silence fell before Cameron let out a shaky breath. "I know you're good Baxter, but she's better", Henry rolled his eyes, unbelieving of his friends' statement, "just a friendly chat, I just wanted your advice", his voice was nonchalant and calm, hoping his friend would relax as well. He didn't. "Baxter. Old friend. TURN. THE. FUCK. AROUND!", Henry winced as Cameron screamed down the phone, was she really that bad? Henry needed to know now more than ever what kind of woman she really was. He needed to know who he was going into business with. "Relax, jeez", Henry kept his calm, collected nature, but Cameron was having none of his friend's stupidity today. "Baxter. Do not play games, okay? Don't player dirty. Don't say anything out of line and for Christ sake don't flirt with her. If you fuck this up she'll eat you and your company for breakfast and I can't help you then", Henry snickered at his comment about flirting. It was known that in his younger years he'd been a playboy, but now he was married to his company.

The Hunted

It was nothing we could have expected, a war that destroyed them, completely. It destroyed their monuments, it destroyed their eco systems. It destroyed them. We continued to watch, from within the mountains, from the furthest ends of the earth. And we waited, until there was nothing left of them. We walked amongst the rubble, we saw their fallen empires, their fallen kingdom. Everything was gone, everything destroyed. We wondered if the earth could heal, now that they were gone. We worked alongside our brethren creatures, drawing on any of the magic left in the earth to help heal it. Using the debris, the destruction, to create new life. From the concrete jungles, forests were rebirthed, erupting form cracks and crevices. Grass, moss, flowers and more flourished, completely covering whatever was left. What couldn't be used, or hidden was swept away by tsunamis, used to create new eco systems in the ocean, new homes for sirens and sea life. Coral reefs were created atop these originally useless structures. Like a phoenix rising from the ashes, we flourished. New Kingdoms created, once again we could fulfil the duty of our ancestors. Each creature returned to its environment, laying claim, protecting their new Kingdoms. A delicate society was created amongst the creatures, allies in their duties. Everything was as it once was and as it always should have been. ~----------~ In a world without humans, mythical creatures run free, preserving nature, protecting the earth from the evils of the past. But who is protecting them from the evils of the present? Avyanna is cursed, branded as prey, to be hunted for an eternity by the Alpha King and his minions. But what happens when her mate is the Alpha Prince, someone who should be her enemy? Can the two overcome the obstacles before them? Can Avyanna avenge the death of her parents and her curse? Can the world finally be free of another evil?
