This story follows Lily Du and her life as a Series of Unfortunate Events. Despair hit her at the age of 13 when she lost her parents in a car accident. From their hit after hit came for her. However, at the age of 17 she meets her adoptive grandfather... from Korea. He nurses her mind and helps her heal from the trauma she was dealt before he moved her to his home in Korea. There she grows strong but leaves to follow in her mother's footsteps back in the U.S. The love she finds makes her run back to her grandfather and the safety of her grandfather's arms.
