Two sisters were on the run after supposedly killing their stepfather. Rubik, the elder sister found her stepfather pinning down and trying to molest her younger sister and she hit him on the head with the nearest thing which happened to be a rolling pin. She had been enduring this kind of assault for a while with the assumption that this would keep her stepfather's hands off her sister but this wasn't the case. They both ran away after leaving him for dead in a pool of his own blood. They trekked and stopped strangers for lift for five days straight sleeping on park benches and abandoned shops. They kept looking over their shoulders the whole time and didn't stop until they got to a small town where they felt was far enough. They kept sleeping inside parks on benches until a disgraced and suspended cop who took refuge in the town noticed them. He took them in after they assured him they were running away from an abusive parent without being specific. The younger sister had to deal with a lot of trauma including recurring nightmares about the assault and her supposedly dead father. Rubik tried to sustain them and keep the truth from their saviour, Tray to an extent. Until one night when Jessie had a breakdown and things came tumbling down when she called the police. This led to a series of digging around since the stepfather's death was never announced. Rubik panicked and ran away leaving her younger sister. What happens to the younger sister after this and what was Tray's role in all this?
