On each fortnight the Reapers Guild has to hand over a selected amount of souls to the Dark Reapers. However, Varus who is a seasoned reaper working for the Reapers Guild, has an unexplained attraction toward Arden, a woman whose soul he has to hand over to the Dark Reapers and causes him to fail on his end of the deal. Now both he and Arden is being hunted by the Dark Reapers and have not only placed themselves in danger, but everyone else—humans and reapers alike. This is also when they discover that Arden, a financial and socially struggling call center assistant, is not so average after all.
