“Happy birthday, my son,” said Lucia Cannavaro to her beloved Angelo. Lucia was so happy to have her son with her so that they could celebrate his twenty-ninth birthday together. Since her own family and her late husband's parents had passed away some years ago, she'd tried so hard to make sure that Angelo's birthdays and any other special occasions with a family connection were treated with due respect and celebration. She knew the two of them had a very special bond, one that was stronger even than the usual mother and son relationship she'd read so much about in women's magazines.
“Thank you, Mama,” laughed Angelo, as he swept her up into his arms, swinging her around and around until she was almost dizzy.
