##Chapter 14 A Dancer in Paradise Lost

"Can't you understand my words," Wayne was pissed off.

"No. I just didn't expect that. Is it appropriate for me to do that with you?"

"Not at all," Wayne drank his wine up. "7 p.m. tomorrow. At the entrance of Paradise. I'll pick you up," he stood up and left me several words before he left.

I stood in the room for quite a while and I couldn't believe what just happened.

I was wondering how could a nobleman like Wayne take me, a pole dancer, to a gathering where there would be many higher-grade people.

I didn't even get a proper evening gown for that.

"Jo Jo," Jason opened the door.

His interruption brought my sense back. "What's wrong?" I stepped back a bit while thinking of Wayne's warning just now.

But Jason didn't seem to notice that. He looked inside the room and found no one else here. Then he closed the door and came in.

"Jo Jo, what's going on between you and Mr. Wayne?" Jason just took it too much to his heart.

I had to avoid his eye contact, "Nothing happened between us. It's none of your business."

Jason was stunned and then smiled bitterly, "Indeed, it's your business. But if you need me or my help, please feel free to tell me. Though I'm not that competent, I still..."

"Sorry, I don't need that," I stopped him, "I'm off work and I should go now. Bye." I left before Jason could say more.

I couldn't accept any help from Jason. I had already tried to seduce Wayne to satisfy my selfish intention. How could I accept Jason's kindness and help anymore?

William was already asleep when I got home.

I walked into his room cautiously and looked at his peaceful sleeping face. I swore in my heart that I would definitely seek justice for him for the hardships he had suffered.

The next day, when I was worried about the gown for the gathering, Wayne sent someone to deliver that to me.

Looking at the box, William couldn't help but wonder, "Caroline, why would someone send you an evening gown?"

I hesitated and didn't know how to explain things between me and Wayne to Jason, so I just acted dumb, "It's just the client we met the other day."

"A client? Why did he send you a dress?" William didn't buy it. "Besides, it looks very expensive and is made of exquisite material with elegant and graceful design. Caroline, will you..."

"Cut it," I knew exactly what he was going to say, and I stopped him. "He needs me to a gathering today, so he prepares a gown for me."

"Actually, I think that client is quite suitable for you. If things work well, you guys could give it a try, " William was trying to set us up.

I sighed and thought to myself, "I will never have the chance to be with Wayne. What happened before between us is already an unexpected gain for me."

William thought he dragged me down and he wanted me to find a boyfriend very much.

In the evening, I put on the gown and waited for Wayne to pick me up at Paradise Lost entrance.

To avoid unnecessary troubles, I could only hide in the corner until Wayne's car showed up.

I was surprised, "How do you know I'm here?"

"Your eye-catching gown," Wayne seemed indifferent.

Looking at the pale yellow dress that shone with crystal light all over my body, I suddenly felt a little embarrassed.

"You are beautiful today," Wayne said to me as soon as I got in the car.

I got extremely nervous without any reason.

For a man as attractive as Wayne, any girl would be pleased by his words.

I secretly clenched my fist, trying my best to calm myself down. I knew clearly that Wayne and I are from different worlds, so I had to restrain myself and tried not to be involved too much.

As I expected, the gathering Wayne brought me to was a party for the rich.

Holding Wayne's arm and looking at the people with fancy clothes, I realized the huge gap between me and Wayne for the very first time.

"You are nervous?" Wayne looked at me after greeting several people. "I thought a pole dancer like you in such a place would be like a duck to water, so don't be nervous and show me your charm."

I took a deep breath and tried to calm myself down. I knew what he meant. It was reasonable for a rich and powerful man like him to look down on a pole dancer like me.

However, I didn't expect that he would show his contempt so blatantly.

"Mr. Wayne? You are here too."

A voice came to Wayne's and my ear. When we turned around, we found a disgusting face right in front of us. It was Leopard.

Wayne glanced at him and nodded politely to the woman beside Leopard.

Looking at the woman, I wondered she must be some big shot. After all, Wayne couldn't easily show some respect to nobody in Garol.

"Mr. Wayne, I didn't expect you to be with this woman?" Leopard looked at me with contempt.

I lowered my head and didn't speak, knowing that no matter what I said, I would just embarrass Wayne.

"Wayne, Dora came to me a few days ago. She told me that you hooked up with an unknown woman. I didn't believe it at first, but I didn't expect you to bring her to such an important event. Or do you want to embarrass the Fox family by doing this?" the woman spoke contemptuously.

"She claims she's from the Fox family and Wayne respects her as well. It seems she is Mrs. Fox," I thought to myself.

The Fox family had a complicated background, and I happened to know some of it from others. I was told that Mrs. Fox was not Wayne's biological mother, and she had some disagreements with Wayne. Judging from what happened today, I believed that the rumors should be true.

"Doris is really good at making a mountain out of a molehill," Wayne sneered.

"Mrs. Fox, you probably don't know this woman. She is the leading dancer in Paradise Lost. A very famous dancer!" Leopard suddenly spoke.

I suddenly looked up at Leopard, only to find smugness in his eyes.

At this very moment, I realized that Leopard had such a close relationship with Mrs. Fox and the Fox family. And that was why Leopard was so arrogant.

It seemed that it was easier for me to take Leopard down since Wayne was at odds with Mrs. Fox, and Leopard was a relative of Mrs. Fox. Given such a situation, I could easily avenge myself.
