Kat Russell was constantly tired and depressed from living in the shadow of her overbearing parents. As the Summer holidays kick off, she has absolutely no plans of staying put and being the good girl they desire.

Together with her immigrant Nigerian best friend Zara, she embarks on a road trip to see the world she has been kept from. But things don't go as planned, and in a bid to take risky adventures Zara gets kidn*pped, and Kat takes it upon herself to rescue her.
