Michael Clintock knew his father was something else, but nothing prepared him for what he walked into when he was called to his father's office for what he thought was a typical business meeting. And what he found made him furious.

A shy, half-Chinese, woman by the name of Eden Li, who had put herself up on a mail order bride website when she had no other options and no where else to turn.

She thinks Michael is just like all the other men she has come across who have stereotyped her. But little does she know, he is actually nothing like them and he might be her ticket to freedom.

Warnings: s****l content, sensitive, mentions of racial stereotypes, mentions of rape and s****l abuse.

Chapter 1: Eden
I had grown up being told that one day I would be loved by a man that wanted me for who I was. That love was more than skin deep. But as I grew up in a world where I was adored for my race and not for who I was as a human being, the more I realized that I would never find someone that would love me for me. My parents had been wrong. For me, there was no seeing beyond my golden complexion, dark brown eyes, and black hair. There was no way to see past my short stature or my curves. There was no way to see past my exterior. No one had before and now that my parents were gone, I had no one to fall back on. I was alone and the only way I had seen as a way to survive keeping a roof over my head was to put myself onto a mail order bride website. It wasn't the life I had planned on having or had wanted, but it was the only way that I could see working. I had tried going to college and had tried making a name for myself, but nothing had worked out. I had wanted to keep my parents' shop that I had grown up in, but I lacked the funds to. So, I had reluctantly put it up for sale and it hadn't taken long for someone to snatch it up. It hurt my heart to see it go, but it had to be done. I had taken the money and used it to pay for a place to stay for the short time that I had before someone picked me up. And it wasn't long that my name was on that website that someone picked me up like I was a lost kitten that needed a home.
