Three hours later we were under the covers in our new bed exhausted from the effort. I was laying on Zader’s chest, and we were both breathing hard. We were also both damp with sweat from exertion and the physical activity.
I gave Zader a kiss on his chest and laid my head back down. “We’re mates.”
He sighed under me deeply. “I know, and I couldn’t be happier.”
I did wonder when our mate abilities would come in. I was excited to be able to communicate with Zader without speaking verbally. I also knew we’d be getting extra powers from the prophecy about Epsilon and Kinsmir wolves.
I was very drowsy, and sleep was coming fast. “I love you, Zader.”
I didn’t even hear his response, and I slipped off to sleep on his chest feeling safe and loved.
